The Sweeney 2012

EXCITING EDGY AND SUPER COOL REMAKE

Ben Drew (Plan B) goes from strength to strength as George Carter cast alongside British film icon Ray Winstone's portrayal of maverick 70's cop Jack Reagan.

For anyone who didn't grow up watching the original TV series you will not be disappointed in this UK film classic. The story is your common or garden cat and mouse police thriller but there is nothing common or garden about the chemistry between the veteren Winstone and the relative, uber talented newcomer to film Ben Drew who winds a gritty and at the same time witty script from writer director Nick Love around his little pinky. Ben is so watchable and completely believable in the bad boy turned good character under the mentoring of Sweeney boss, whose questionable policing gets him into hot water with internal affairs as the gang are in hot pursuit of Neil, played by Tayo Walker Allen, a very convincing baddie.

It's heavy action combined with super acting with a few unexpected twists thrown in making the comfort characters of the past new and fresh. The end result is 2 hours of film entertainment that wizzes by in a flash of sirens and masculinity only found in the movies.
