NO WORDS CAN TELL YOU HOW GOOD THIS BOOK IS

I am very shocked when I think this book was published in 1991, can you believe 22 years ago, when I was still a small child in Taiwan. I never hear about it until my friend say to me, you got to read this book. It is amazing book. So I read.

It is the story of three generations of chinese woman and the hardships they must endure under Chairman Mao, who when I discover at the end he dies 9th September 1976 I remember this date as the day so many people were set free.

The book is engrossing and it is difficult to fathom anybody could endure this level of harsh cruelty and inequality. I think this book made me a person of empathy and gives me a greater understanding of my history and culture.

I cried when I read I use 2 boxes of Kleenex.

A story of human spirit you will never forget with a fascinating history lesson thrown in for you.
