18 July 2013 Shirley Yanez 7858 Media, Magazines Grazia Magazine I am not a big fan of glossy magazines anymore because they all have the same content and follow trends like sheep! The same boring High Streee fashion trends that no ever buys or would be seen dead in. The same celebrity stories and drivel, The Kardashians make up and clothing lines, boring Kerry Katona or Simon Cowell and his botex mishaps and bloating. It makes me sick to see how fashion editors and darlings spend their whole lives lunching, gossiping and waiting for one big event like a Royal Baby or who Katie Price is marring or divorcing. I have noticed that all the glossy magazines are geared towards young girls who have little money to spend on the green eyed envy of a chanel handbag by the magazine editors and staff. They love top couture designers and constantly brag of lunching or cocktails with PR grues and buyers yet they fill their pages with Top Shop tat and primark cheap throw way Rubbish. It seems to me to be all fluff and little substance, so I avoid like the plague and create my own style and gossip by remaining unique. If I ever do get tempted to buy a glossy on a long flight or to read in the dentist, I would likely pick up a copy of Grazia because at least it has a good fashion section and is not as cheesy and cheap looking as the rest. I won,t buy vogue or Harpers anymore because I cannot stand to see Photoshopped models who look like they need a good meal or putting in a coffin in the ground. There is a real market out there for a new kind of magazine that targets real women with real bodies and covers real stories about real celebrity lives. We must stop buying into all this materialistic none truth rubbish and get magazines back to being fun filled enjoyment you cannot put down.
