04 May 2013 R and R Black 18181 Shops, Specialty Westland and Co ONE OF MY TOP TEN FAVOURITE PLACES IN LONDONWe were so sad to lose Geoff Westland who died 24th March, 2013, the founder of Westland and Co but his memory lives on in the legacy he left us all at Westland and Co, a company build with love, passion and complete dedication. We live in a large (for London) garden flat in Wandsworth so certainly don't have space or the budget for much of the spectacular and I mean spectactular wares on offer at Westland, more suited to high ceilinged mansions, castles and other properties of grand scale and yet we love to browse. in fact I cannot think of anything I'd rather do on a SundayThis place is not really a shop, a tribute to the late Geoff Westward who we knew, it's an emporium, a gallery, a design paradise and a Santa's grotto for anyone like me who loves looking at beautiful antiques, artifacts and curios from days gone by.Some of the gear is expense doubt about it, that said I've picked up a stunning chandelier that hangs in my dining room for 140 quid when Christopher Wrays wanted 600 for reproduction. It is impossible to describe how truly wonderful this place is so do go and take a look for yourself. It's free to wander and be inspired. And don't worry Geoff your vision and dream will live on as what you built was built to last and your customers will return for generations to come.
