As a teen, Irv worked in his father's ice cream store. During World War II, Burt was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and produced ice cream for his fellow troops. When the war was over, the two entrepreneurs were eager to capitalize on America's love of ice cream.

They started out in separate ventures at the advice of Irv’s father. In 1945, Irv opened Snowbird Ice Cream in Glendale, California. His store featured 21 flavors and emphasized high-quality ice cream sold in a fun, personalized atmosphere. A year later, Burt opened Burton's Ice Cream Shop in Pasadena, CA. By 1948, they had six stores between them. This concept eventually grew into Baskin-Robbins.

MY FAVORITE ICE CREAM

I have loved Baskin Robbins ever since I was a kid. My absolute favorite flavour has remained the same for 15 or so years. If you haven't tried Baseball Nut, you are truly missing out, creamy vanilla with a raspberry swirl stuffed full of peanuts is just the best. I cannot believe they have been making this flavour pretty much since I was born.

My store at 925 North Sepulveda is wonderful. The only thing I would say is why oh why do you only sell this flavor during the baseball season and not all the year round.

YOUR FLOWERS MADE MY DAY

Did I get one hell of a surprise yesterday, flowers delivered to my door. First time ever. I am still in shock, particularly considering how totally amazing they were. Worth waiting for I'd say. They smell so strong and fragrant, my whole place just is full of the scent first off. Second not the usual boring arrangement most people get, you know the ones in the cheesy vase, not this one very classy.

These were bulbs in a square wooden box, lots of different types of flowers, Hyacinths and others, I don't know all the names but blues and pinks and whites, just soooooo beautiful and orginal.

Great that some are blooming already and some still to blossom. The delivery lady told me I can store them once they are done and replant them also. Great for my yard the gift that keeps on giving.

How to make a gal happy. Thanks a bunch Growing Wild, will be using you guys.

This fashion store is the little sister to Zara and also owned by the Spanish parent company Inditex. Their stores can be found predominately in Spain (283) although they do have a world wide presence.

MODERN WELL TAILORED BUDGET HIGH FASHION

A friend of mine from Europe recently introduced me to Stradivarius. She bought me three different black T-shirts when she came to visit as a gift and since then I've become hooked. Stradivarius has changed my view of shopping online as there are currently none of these stores open in the US. Firstly I must say that I love black, which is their staple collection and although the product is a little cheaper price point than Zara the quality is not compromised. The T-shirts my friend bought were great quality cotton with 5% spandex so they had good stretch and fit. Also one, a bat wing style was lovely soft cotton/viscose blend, really long over the bum and well made and finished.

I've since bought a couple of pieces online which I've been really happy with, a pair of wax cropped pants which fit me perfectly, I wear a 6 but needed a 40 in their sizing, a word of warning things are cut pretty small.

A great value for money brand. Very cool styling and no compromises on fabric and cut.
