Stamford

Stamford is a town and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England

It's been said for years that Stamford is a charming stone town. Stamford was dubbed "the finest sight on the road between Edinburgh and London" by Sir Walter Scott, and "if there is a more beautiful town in the whole of England, I have yet to see it" by historian WG Hoskins. It was just named "Britain's top place to live" by the Sunday Times.
