08 August 2024 Lily Blacker 151 City, Shops, Specialty, Food & Drink The Tiny Bakery Danish pastries to die for and they are VEGAN I used to work close by a few years ago and although I don’t miss my old job I do certainly miss visiting this gem of a shop located just off Queen’s Road in the University student area of Leicester. So whenever I am passing, like today I make a point of stopping and shopping. What’s special about this place is the skill of the pastry chef/chefs behind the scenes and it is the only bakery I have ever been to where a good third of the offering is plant based/Vegan.Now I am not vegan so this is not the reason I love it, you actually get a double feel good factor when you’ve scoffed the big blueberry and crème anglasie danish, loved it and honestly could not tell the difference, lip licking good. I don’t even think someone French (or even Danish) would could complain. So here my shout out, I hope people continue to support through the tough times. The road is all dug up at the moment, closed with a diversion and the parking is very difficult around here at the best of times. But don’t let that put you off, park away and walk if you have to, it’ll be worth it.
