Oggis Restaurant Leicester

Based on the reviews on trip advisor you'd think this is a wonderful authentic Italian restaurant just like San Carlos in Leicester, always the same, fabulous fresh pasta and pizza made and cooked to order with a lively ambience and cooking aromas wafting from the kitchen able to make any mouth water.

Cut to Oggis where the decor is more shabby less chic, the wine waiter hadn't heard of Malbec and when the spaghetti arabiatta came out, even though the pasta was cooked nicely el dente, the sauce tasted like it had come from the jar, bland and just tomato pulp, no olives or depth of flavour sadly.

Can't remember how much the bill was, not expensive in the least but the wine was undrinkable and had to be taken off. This is an Indian run restaurant trying to market Italian and perhaps would be better sticking to Indian food. Just a thought.
