Bella Freud and Marks and Spencer’s

The journalists (editors), Lauren Goodwin Grafton at the Mirror must think we are checked out. The Guardian, Collection sells out in a day and will not be restocked” - the only reason I can think Bella Freud would do it, yeah, I don’t even have to say it.

On devaluing your brand for you.

I have racked my brains to figure out how this collaboration can help Bella Freud. I cannot think why unless she is literally not selling anything.

I am not sure if this marks the end of luxury brands as we know them. What’s next Gucci and Marks and Spencer’s.

The 1970 jumper from Bella Freud is an iconic collectible piece for fashion history lovers. It is also a lovely high quality wool jumper so many over the years have clearly justified the high price tag and this is a sweater that pops up time and time again in secondhand circles retaining it’s value (and resale value) somewhat as the desire to have one is high.

The idea too much in circulation and your brand value depreciates, it’s not so special and exclusive for the customer.

Why I just don’t understand why she would do this; make her jumper for £29.99 and flood the market?

Although maybe she hasn’t, it was launched yesterday and today there are rumours it’s sold out already.

Either way, a brilliant marketing exercise, M&S and Bella Freud in every single newspaper or a brand that just cannot sell it’s £300 a go jumpers anymore, selling out to the highest bidder?

My question, who will aspire to Bella Freud, the design, the aesthetic when it’s available in Marks and Spencer’s everyone’s wearing the 100% acrylic bobbled up version. (I take it back it’s a cute cotton sweatshirt 1984 for £27.50 and still available and has nothing to do with Bella Freud or Bella Freud design)

The Bella Freud for Marks and Spencer Nature and Blue Sky jumpers merino wool at £129 are sold out, people are making a market on EBay, but not that great of one, you can get new with tags for £95.

The cost of living crisis is breaking businesses that have dominated for years. Now things are so bad they don’t know who to stand next to for the best.

What’s next Martha Freud plates in the homeware department?
