02 August 2024 Charlie Black 95 Shops, Food & Drink Farndon Fields Farm Shop And restaurant in Market Harborough Half rant half rave.I used to go to Farndon Fields at least once a week pre covid, now it’s more like once every couple of months. The feel of a farmers market and the presentation of a luxury international deli is what you get at Farndon fields near market Harborough, for anyone American it has posh Trader Joe or Bristol Farm Feels. There has been an emergence of independent Grocers around the globe Erewhon in LA and from Australian Jones the grocer that has started popping up in the Middle East. The fruit and veg locally sourced is by far the best in the area unless you are having local produce delivered and they have a fine range of homemade type luxury cakes and lots of independent sweets you’ll have never seen before to try. They also stock the frozen food line Cook (which incidentally is also available at The Langton Garden centre if you are fan and cannot find it in the Midlands. The cafe restaurant is always over subscribed. They have loyal clientele, mainly an older crowd, pensioners and the menu reflects the customers. Fish and chips, ploughman’s lunch, afternoon tea.As a farm shop, loads of meat on theMenu. If you are looking for healthy, this is probably not the best choice as not much available for vegetarians and vegans. We used to go for breakfast on a Sunday morning when it’s definitely a younger crowd in The Farmers Kitchen If you love a good fry up after a Saturday night skinful. Not the most glamourous more barbours, wellies and kids.Definitely worth a visit as just a walk around the shop is a sensory stimulation, lovely hand picked luxury food, fresh olives and antipastas, gifts, cards, homey bits and bobs. A great place to find a quirky/unusual gift.
