A DANGEROUS METHOD

I have studied the work of Carl Jung and he has helped me discover so much about myself because he gets you to look at your own behaviour and teaches self-therapy, so I really wanted to see this film.

Sabina Spielrein played by Kiera Knightly is suffering from Hysteria and is hospitalised under the care of Carl Jung played by Michael Fastbender. Jung who has been using the talking therapy cure of Dr Sigmund Freud decides to use the method on the hysterical Sabina, as a possible cure. Her psychological problems are deep rooted from her childhood after being abused by her violent Father from a very young age. She is highly intelligent as a woman and has strong desires to become a psychiatrist in her own right one day when and if cured. Jung is married at the time he takes on Sabrina as a patient and he becomes sexually involved as her lover, in his method to try and treat her. He goes to Freud who becomes like a father figure and a deep rift develops between the two men over the methods Jung uses to find a cure for Sabina.

This is a well-acted great movie that I really enjoyed watching. It is a really deep look into the life and work of Carl Jung one of the greatest minds in my opinion. Well worth renting on DVD.

Review: This is a film I could watch over and over. The story centres around Freud's (played by Viggo Mortenson) relationship with his protege Carl Jung, Michael fassbender and his patient and then mistress Sabine, played by Kiera Knightley. Multi dimensional fantastic film.
