Many of its physical stores in the UK now trade under the combined Currys PC World brand, and as PC City in ItalyWHERE THE STAFF CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCEI try to support small local business as much as I can because I know how hard it is for the "little guy" to compete with the big boys on price and marketing but my experience over three consecutive visits to PC World in Fosse Park, Leicester (I cannot speak for other stores) has been noteworthy and shown me some of the the positives about a big chain like this.I have found the staff in the KnowHow section; where you go if your equipment is not functioning or you need technical help to be outstanding, friendly, courteous, happy and with KnowHow. I have been assisted by several members of this team but one person in particular has stood out, Sam.I have noticed the young talent a brand like PC World attracts, students studying computing and wiz kids in general perhaps wouldn't have the job opportunities with a smaller more localised business.Of course it is hit and miss because the people are different in every store and even in Leicester some of the sales people are a bit pushy and you do get the feeling they are on commission, (we all know they are but you can be subtle about it) however if I need help now these are my go to guys.As a customer, particularly when expertise (you haven't got) is required; trust, the experience and the end result plays a big part. Price is important but less so when your hard drive has crashed and all your data is potentially lost forvever. When big brands are under fire for unethical practise and monopolizing and squeezing out smaller vendors who cannot always compete, offering excellent opportunities for young amazing talent is the sure way to brand out and develop customer loyalty.RANT OR RAVE? I am more spiritual than religious, love love love to travel and explore new places. Like a bit of shopping, who doesn’t. My motivation to snoop, in the beginning I enjoyed having a rant, letting rip, now I am building my profile for two reasons, one to make new friends in my area and two to make a bit of extra cash. I’ve been a pretty active reviewer online helping my friends who have small and medium sized businesses so it made sense to me to join the Poopsnoop community as a paid affiliate. x Twitter Comments are only visible to subscribers.
