GOTTA GIVE IT TO BBC FILMS FOR THIS ONE

In many ways I think the BBC is outdated as an organisation, an old boys club but I've got to give whomever was behind this film making it to screen credit.

It's one of those stories that weaves it's way around multiple characters across multiple cities and multiple nationalities. (some is subtitled but not enough to put you off if you are not a fan of foreign language movies) The director cleverly links them all together and brings the viewer succinctly back to the beginning at the end, hence the title.

I really rated it. Loads of talent in the ensemble cast and some great acting from people I haven't seen before like the guy who plays a prolific sex offender about to be released from a US high security jail being thrust unexpectedly into a high risk situation with a beautiful, desperate in the moment, young woman as their paths cross in Denver airport. She also gives a great performance.

The film weaves from scene to scene, linking character to character taking you on a journey across continents, personal tragedy and just the unique circumstance of life. It asks questions, challenges beliefs and at times is touching and insightful.

The script is tight and there are some memorable lines, like the shortest prayer ever uttered, Fuck It; in context it was an amazing line delivered by Anthony Hopkins, who pulls the absolute max out of his relatively small part. Always a giant even with a single line. (he does have a few more than that)

This is one grown up intelligent I'll definitely be watching again.

This review probably sounds a bit crazy. Watch the film and then read it again, the review that is. It will all make sense I think.

What’s important to me? I am not flash or fancy. I am a little bit chubby and my hair, nails, etc are usually a mess. I prefer to be comfortable than dressed up that said I work hard, earn a decent amount of money I like to spend on overseas travel and collecting vintage jewellery which I buy and don’t wear. I am happier tracking in South America or on safari exploring animal sanctuaries and nature reserves across Africa where I have visited on five different occasions, Ghana, Senegal in West Africa, South Africa and Sudan and Kenya on the East coast. I would love to visit Victoria falls and see the Gorillas in Uganda. I am a vegetarian and don’t smoke but enjoy a glass of decent wine and love tasting local wine when I travel.
