JAZZ LOVER'S UNITE IN A SORT OF DUNGEON

Loads of jazz lovers rave about Ronnie Scotts but for my money there ain't no better place to hear jazz in London than 606 Club, Jamie Cullum agrees with me. I've seen him and Sophie Dahl in there more than once.

We would have been going to see Dominic Miller tonight, got a last minute baby sitter then couldn't get tickets, the draw back of a tiny London venue in a cellar effectively.

Oh but it is so amazing. We've been coming here for years since the days we were really poor and bought out first flat in Sands End, stumbling distance home when we'd spent the cab money on another round. The club is celebrating 25 years for a good reason.

It's on a little back street, Lots Road, the short cut through from the posh New Kings Road to the not so posh Wandsworth Bridge Road, our stomping ground.

It's dark and cramped with amazing acoustics and attracts top talent from all over the world so make sure the next time you have a night off spend it sipping a martini and being transported to another world listening to incredible jazz.

Book ahead. Reservations are essential. Music fee, 8-12 quid. They only have a supper license so don't expect to drink without having a meal. It's not allowed. The food is superb, generous portions and reasonably priced. Expect to pay 50 pounds for two with wine and dessert on the cheaper end of the menu.

I am a hard working jewellery designer with a small business I promote through local fairs and trade shows. I love combining vermeil with precious stones to offer my customers something better and more unique than the more aspirational jewellery brands like Monica Vinader. I am lucky to have had some good press in Stylist magazine and a tiny mention in Vogue a few years back. I get to work from our beautiful Georgian townhouse which we struggled to buy 25 years ago and together with my husband (my parents call him that, we are not actually married) Ron, who works in film finance we have renovated and turned into the perfect haven for us. One day at Chelsea town hall maybe. A rockstar wedding maybe is on the cards, followed by the pub, always the Ship on Wandsworth bridge for us and then Bali I think. My dream vacation destination, somewhere I’ve never been and longed for flicking through my monthly Conde Nast Traveller subscription.
