It has stores in 14 countries across Asia, Europe and North America and is the grocery market leader in the UK (where it has a market share of around 30%), Malaysia, the Republic of Ireland and Thailand.ALL IN ALL A GREAT OPTIONWhen I found myself in need of a visit to the optician, the over the counter magnifying lenses were no longer doing the job I did some research to find out which of the major brands offered the best deal for glasses.I chose to book an appointment with Tesco as they offered a free exam and basic glasses for just £15.00. (bi-focals do cost a bit more). The examination was extremely thorough and included a test for Glaucoma. I was seen pretty much on time and the staff were friendly and helpful. They did try to encourage me to browse much more expensive designer frames in the few minutes wait before I was seen but when I said I just wanted the budget option that was fine. The exam took about 15 minutes in total and my glasses were ready in less than a week. All in all a great option if you are on a budget but need specs to see.
