Ever tipped a cup of stewed tea down the front of your favourite white cotton expensive shirt, in the car, with no access to hot water, a sink or washing detergent?
Well this has just happened to me and the solution my passenger informed me was Dr. Beckmann. Who's Dr. Beckmann was my reply, a brand/product I have never seen advertised or had heard of but when I parked and found the nearest mom and pop pharmacy to try and rescue my shirt on the go they had and immediately produced a box containing three magic sachets costing £1.00.
I have used Vanish, which does work but tends to leave fabric looking a little greyish but had nothing to lose as the shirt was history anyway.
The instructions are simple, just place a sachet in the washing machine drum as you would soap powder or a colour catcher. I was limited to using the cup the offending spillage had come from, washed out with a splash of cold water.
I placed the front stain of the shirt in the cup next to a Dr. Beckmann's sachet, filled it up with cold water and left it to soak on the journey home in the car cup holder.
The results were miraculous, by the time I got home the stain was gone, completely not a trace. All I had to do was rinse it out. Incredible. There's a reason they don't need to advertise.
