Previous SnoopBottega Prosecco Bar and Cafe Edna Moss / 27 February 2025 / Categories: Opinions Phone Scam In the UK If you’ve been involved in an accident they might get the better of you. I’ve come on here to share. I’ve just had a scammer call me who said they were calling from “the Road Safety division” about an accident I was involved in. The first clue was no caller ID.I knew it wasn’t real (even though I have just been in a minor accident) because I have a nick name and if it was someone from the police or the government they would have used my actual name but it was the only thing that alerted. She did have correct information about me and when I questioned her, are you from the police I asked, she just kept repeating things like no she was from the traffic division. When I asked what traffic division, she repeated regarding Road safety. When I asked her what company she worked for she wouldn’t answer. When I asked her if she worked for the council was a civil servant she said no.Eventually I pulled over, told her I’d take her details and call her back. She insisted she would call me back. I said no and then she put the phone down on me.Beware of scam callers. My plan for the next time it happens is to ask the caller if they need my help. I plan to ask anyone who sounds suspect, if the caller is being held against their will. I am going to ask are they a victim of people trafficking? Are they going to be beaten up and tortured if they don’t get me to agree to their wishes or demands. Or maybe I’ll just say are you trying to sell me Cryto currency I honestly have no idea who this person was or what they wanted really. After watching James Blake’s BBC Catfish Documentary “Hunting The Catfish Crime Gang where he uncovered whole complexes in Myanmar of housed people tricked, trafficked and unable to escape, with aerial photographic proof these complexes have expanded from nothing, a few buildings to communities of over 200,000 wholy owned, operated and run by the Chinese. The two things may be completely unrelated but there again who knows who is going to try and con you next.
