A holiday tradition

Et toujours c’est jolies boules des neiges Chanel pour la fete.

Each year Chanel bring out a snow globe and they have become extremely collectible especially en France where ladies not only love to add the latest one, they also swap ones to add a more desirable one (like Hermes scarves) to their collection.

The reason they are so collectible and desirable is because they are exclusive, you cannot buy one unless you find someone prepared to sell their’s. It a VIP limited edition gift that goes to who???? It’s a mystery. Coco Chanel in her earliest years was known to be mischievous and created desire by making things unavailable, like her No. 5 fragrance. She’s spray it but ladies couldn’t buy it. Well not all ladies. Wink wink.

I have been lucky through my work over the years to have been gifted a few through my life and now love to pass them on to younger members of my family.

You can find one secondhand for as little as 50 euros, the more desirable rarer globes can go for up to 500 euros. My friend Fanny Palet at La filles des Cordeliers is a good person know if you want to source one.

Whether you buy this years snow globe or one from previous beauty collections I think it will become as a part of your Joyeaux Noel as ours.
