Established in the mid-1930s, this venerable dress agency has seen the city transform around it, yet it has remained steadfast in its commitment to providing discerning women with exquisite garments that tell the tales of bygone eras and embody the essence of glamour.

Imagine, if you will, the swinging doors opening to reveal a treasure trove of haute couture, each piece hand-selected and imbued with a rich history that could rival any museum exhibit.

And what a journey it has been since its acquisition by the ever-so-chic Pamela Magrath in 1948! The tale of how she stumbled upon the store is as enchanting as the dresses that line its racks. Returning from India, a place where the vibrant colours and opulent textiles had surely captured her imagination, she found herself drawn to the quaint charm of Cheval Place. As fate would have it, her gaze fell upon the Brompton Oratory, which reminded her of the architectural grandeur of Lutyens Deli. In that moment, she stepped into The Dress Box, and it was love at first sight—or rather, love at first sale, for the current owner was in the midst of selling the business. Without hesitation, Pam agreed to keep the legacy of this sartorial sanctuary alive, and with her keen eye for style and flair for business, she did just that.

Over the years, The Dress Box has become a beacon of luxury and a trusted name in the second-hand fashion scene. It's not just about the clothes, though; it's about the experience.
