18 December 2012 Mark Hutchinson 9020 Movie and TV Shows, Movie The Lincoln Lawyer MCCONAUGHEY IS HOT AS HELL AND I'M NOT EVEN A WOMAN.This unexpected totally inspired LA noir thriller based on a novel by Michael Connelly was a treat. I must be the last person to see this film. Surprisingly I'd never heard of it. The movie stars Matthew McConaughey, as Mick Haller, a silky smooth criminal lawyer ladies who has just regained his licence to practise law after some minor problem brushed over in the script. (Why his office is temporarily located in the back of his car, a Lincoln Continental.) Haller (McConaughey) gets lucky when he's retained by spoilt and super rich Louis Roulet, played by Ryan Phillippe, who's accused of a violent sexual assault. The script is brilliantly smart, savvy and very witty in places depicting the charmer Hallet knowing all the angles and how to work the system. It's a world of cynical lawyers cutting deals, bent cops and benter cons all battling over sinister secrets and all desperate to come out on top. Welcome to the USA. Great watch for guys and gals.
