The Crazy Bear Beaconsfield

The Crazy Bear Beaconsfield

I went to this hotel for my 60th birthday on 9th September after finding it on a google search. The website looks amazing and it looked like the kind of unique stylish place I wanted to enjoy this milestone. I booked a unique room for two nights which looked amazing and was expensive but it looked worth it, plus dinner in the English restaurant. Upon arriving to check in the samll reception area was in complete chaos and we were left with our bags for ages because we had pre paid and cancelled one of the nights well in advance but there was no information of this in the booking system.

Beware once you book there is no cancellation refund.

We had to carry our own bags to the room no 30 after a massive fight which was very poor for the price we had paid £460 per night and the duty manager was rude young inexperienced and made no effort to make things right. The room was really nice as described and we decided to go to the pool for some lunch and relax. The pool area is not as good as in the photo on the website and we waited half an hour before I had to walk into the bar and ask to be served. The lunch was small but very good once it finally arrived and the young girl serving spent ages saying sorry explaining she was the only one working the shift.

This place is great if you are young and looking for a dirty weekend away but if you want good service, luxury and to relax this is not the place for you. The English restaurant was very good, the food good and the service better but the music was to loud, hip hop and not right for the romantic dinner I wanted. The room was quite and bed very comfy so we had a good sleep but the breakfast was a buffet with extra costs for cooked additions like eggs, the service again was poor.

I would not go here again but if you love fun, loud music young inexperienced staff with the cost of an expesive 5 star hotel without the luxury, you will enjoy this unique playpen in a beautiful quite village.

I love good food, books and films that tell a true story behind them. I love affordable luxury and making brands accountable and more transparent. I love all kinds of music, including Rock, Opera, R&B and classical. When I travel 5 star, it has to be 5 star, including good food, comfort, good sheets and no kids in the pool. I love well made clothes and hate fast disposable fashion. I am well travelled and my favourite places include Marbella, Portofino, St Tropez, LA and Paris.
