Illamasqua Powder Foundation

Illamasqua Powder Foundation

I wanted to review this brand because I absolutely support their "Beauty Not Brutality" philosophy and I have to say the excellent service I received when I purchased was noteworthy. Being a more mature woman I have got used to staff on posh department store make up counters passing over me like at best they cannot help me and at worst, we don't want that old baggage wearing our make up.

So when I was greeted at the Illamasqua counter with a cheery smile and a how can I help by a young man he had my interest. A note to brands here, we older girls might not look so good but we still want to look our best and more importantly have money to spend. The young man in question was very knowledgeable about the brand founded in 2008 and passionate and proud of their focus on cruelty free and PETA accreditation which put me in the buying mood.

I went for the Powder Foundation in PF200, price approx €30 which is extremely light, dry and powdery in texture. I was looking for something I could wear without liquid foundation which I can rarely be bothered to put on these days and at my time of life with a little rosacia, a few broken veins and enlarged pores across my nose (age) I do need a heavier finish. I do like the way it feels and applies, although the coverage I think better suited to much younger skin that needs a lot less correction than mine. I will use it as a powder over foundation or maybe pass it to one of my daughters to try.

Just because this product didn't work so well for me I am excited to find a "vegan" brand leading the way to a

more transparent, ethical beauty business.
