What to do on a wet weekend in London

Don’t do it. Don’t start it. Blooming heck, my girlfriend came over on Saturday lunch and we didn’t come up for air until Sunday night. I like a marathon watch it has to be said but never never never imagined how bloody brilliant a TV series could be. Before you fill up the comments this is someone who has never seen The Crown, Game of Thrones or Downton Abbey.

Madmen in the other hand are as right up my street. The cast headed up by John Hamm and January Jones, Elizabeth Moss and Christina Hendricks as Red, this is an ensemble of memorable epic moments.

I’ve even started watching @madmenclips on Instagram for a daily fix of shorthand scenes and sexy quips and killer one liners.

Everything from the costumes, the sets, the characters, kept us excited and engaged. Each episode an individual tawdry tale of the adman’s glamourous frenetic high pressure life in the 1950s when TV brand and billboard advertising was taken over by the AGENCY.

The acting is superb, the balance wonderful, a myriad of dark and light, where money greed sex and power come together.

This box set is witty and stylish, perfect couple watching, great for guys and girls,I think even a family with teenage kids would enjoy this series.

It really delivers some straight between the eyes blows how far we have come yet how far we still have to go: my girlfriend reminded me when it comes to office politics and equality in the workplace, there are moments when the old boys club is hilarious and cringe in equal measure.
