The most special thing about the Caley, a family run, recently refurbished seaside family hotel, is the energy. Genuine warm vibes from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. Something impossible to fake. The staff have navigated the fine line between warm friendly hospitality and professionalism and service to deliver an offering difficult to fault.

If you are looking for down pillows, luxury linens and dressing gowns and slippers this is not the Caley but the room was well appointed beautiful interiors and everything you need for a comfortable, affordable luxury experience. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits and Maria the Host and restaurant manager will provide you with iced water on request.

The restaurant is family style dining; a simple menu and the food was good.

The clientele mainly families, and grandparents with grand children.

Breakfast was included in our room rate £140 and whilst the offering was not what you might expect on your European holiday, when it comes to fruit, juices, smoothies, the cooked full English breakfast was exceptional with perfectly poached and fried eggs, runny middles and plant based sausages available if preordered.

The layout is like converted long barns around courtyards equipped with loungers and tables and chairs for a morning read or nap.

Our room whilst adequate wasn’t massive and no bath which would have been issue if staying longer. We didn’t try to move so not sure if a room with a bath was available or not.

All in all a lovely warm welcoming property doing what they do with love.
