I just got back from London, saw Taylor Swift in Wembley and hung out on Regents Street, Bond St, Mayfair, went to everywhere on the Monopoly board pretty much. They have this group of restaurants everyone talks about, The IVY and I spent my vacation telling people about our “The Ivy” in LA.This restaurant is a personal favourite, I love going so decided to share this snoop about the iconic spot on Robertson, not to be confused with Santa Monica, The Ivy at the Shore, which is great but a different beachy vibe. The experience at the IVY begins when you pull up and Valet park, the restaurant is smack bang in the middle of twoLuxury high end clothing stores so the people watching and women with bags filling up the patio is a regular scene.Lunch for two is at least 100 bucks. I like the brunch eggs Benedict and hollandaise, they make it better than anywhere and the signature Banana split I’ve been ordering for years with homemade pistachio ice cream. The staff are as iconic as the place, Mario has been there I’d guess more than 30 years and he seems to remember all his regulars, dressed in floral ties (that match the seats) and crisp white shirts, when you’ve been you’ll understand why there really is only one “The IVY”FYI for anyone booking in a table of 5 of more expect 19% service to be added to your bill. It’s a super spot for star gazing and celebrity stalking if that’s your thang although the last person I bumped into there was P. Diddy ikes.
