Someone got very lucky casting an unknown and impeccable Carey Mulligan in the lead as Jenny winning her the Bafta and an academy award nomination for this role, her film debut. It's the whole thing that makes this movie so special and quintessentially English. The set design and costumes capture the vibe of the sixties and stellar performances from Rosalynd Pike and Emma Thompson make this film a must watch over and over again.
