One of my lads had been nagging to go. He's been learning about the Vikings at school and the mrs said she'd take them for Easter. £4.25 per child we got a family ticket for £24.Looking round old ruins has never been my thing too boring for words but I have to say we got there and I had a brilliant day.The castle is not a ruin, it has been extended several times throughout it's history and still has some lords family living there. But the things for my memory, was when we looked out over the water, it was freezing cold, the sea was choppy as hell and my lad talking to me about the vikings coming across and imagining the seige on the castle build right close to cliff edge. Great. My family will never believe this but even though I had to shell out fifty quid all in, we did all had a cracker of a day.The views out over to Lindesfarm are like nothing I've ever seen even though I don't think I've ever been colder, blue balls on that beach and we were not just kicking em.
