My advice. Check your insurance policy and if a replacement windscreen coverage isn’t included add it to your policy immediately. I was completely shocked how much Autoglass quoted me for a new windscreen almost £1000.
Actually almost as much as my car is worth. It’s not uncommon for windscreens to crack in autumn I am now reliably informed, the change in temperature is a contributing factor.
Through my insurance company my replacement windscreen cost £115.
When I tried to think about who else might repair a windscreen quickly I couldn’t come up with a competitor.
Regarding the service, I had to wait a couple of days for an appointment which doesn’t sound that bad but in my case the car couldn’t be driven. And I did try to book online but the system wasn’t working so ended up having to call to make the appointment.
It was a 2 hour window and there was only one time choice available on that day.
I arrived on time and I was finished on time. It took about 21/2 hours in total, the amount of time quoted.
They did have a waiting room with free tea and coffee.
The getting booked in wasn’t easy, they were very busy, the service was as it said on the tin.
