These days a strong brand isn't enough for me. I like fun, energy, creativity and good hospitality and you get all of these things at Gran Sorvete.

Competing with Haagen Daz in prime location on the Marina, Vilamoura Portugal this little gem you do have to walk a bit further around to stumble across this sweet treat. It's on the side where the little shops are so I stumbled across it after shopping in the Calzedonia store across from the ice cream, that's another snoop rave.

The decor is the first thing you notice, pink and loads and loads of paper flowers, very eye catching and the small terrace offers wonderful marina views.

The staff were warm and friendly. Very positive. Clearly a nice place to work and the ice cream, I had my signature chocolate and it was as good as any I've tried.

Cannot remember exactly how much we paid, had to less than 10 euros for two single scoop cones. Maybe 4 euros each. The scoop was generous and a challenge to eat it quickly enough to stop it dripping.

I was tempted by the sundaes on the menu, a picture of their banana split almost had me, next time for sure.

If you are in the marina in Vilamoura and fancy an ice cream, I'd recommend Gran Sorvete. I'd also recommend giving them a follow on Tiktok, they put a lot of effort into making some pretty funny content.
