I put this movie on when I just want to escape to Italy with the beautiful people. A cast filled with Hollywood acting talent Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Freddie creates tension for Matt Damon’s underdog character protagonist Tom trying his best to muscle in with the rich Cortina set of the 1960’s a millionaire’s playground for American shipping magnet heir and general bag boy Dickie Greenleaf played magnificently by a now much younger Jude Law.

His girlfriend Marge (gwyneth Paltrow) and Meredith Logue (Cate Blanchett) light up the screen as the love interests of Dickie but there’s a big twist, actually more than one.

An Anthony Minghella masterpiece everyone needs to watch at least once. If nothing else you’ll be exploring the Italian Rivera for real after this spectacle.
