The Waterfront

Gastropub in Market Harborough charming and quirky

If you travel a lot or are used to swanky gourmet pubs with roaring fires full of antiques this is not the Waterfront.

The Waterfront Market Harborough;

A tale of two halves, gorgeous outdoor seating area with canal views and sounds of the barges and water lapping at the quayside, very tranquil and relaxing.

Lovely staff, run by very friendly Husband and wife team, always welcoming and professional.

It’s a beautiful converted barn, gorgeous but the inside could do with a makeover and the crowd is older so we like to sit outside.

The highlights used to be the onion rings and the verdure board an amazing anti pasta platter for sharing, artichokes, hummus, olives, fresh focaccia bread, I returned this week after not visiting for about a year and whilst the warm welcome is the same the menu has completely changed.

For the health conscious, free from gang, they have added a Thai noddle salad with cashews, chilli and a whole array fresh vibrant vegetable. Really really tasty.

The wine is definitely drinkable and they have a good selection of top shelf spirits including alcohol free beer and other zero options to try like Seedlip Gin.

And it’s really affordable too so all in all if you are looking for value, a lovely view and genuinely great service, where they actually remember you even after 12 months, this is a really good option.
