I first met Steve Wilkinson when he had a lovely shop in Stoneygate, Leicester. He was the only jeweller in Leicester stocking Alex Monroe jewellery and I bought a pair of earrings, that he then reinforced the posts for me.

Since then he has moved to Market Harborough, which would be a drive for me, except I go a couple of times a month anyway so I’ve kept going to the new shop too.

Steve is very friendly and will always take the time to have a chat if the shops not busy, which actually unless you go at 9.30am on a Monday morning he usually has a string of customers in need of his help.

I have taken several repairs, all of which I have been more than happy with. Steve has also fixed a couple of vintage pieces for me, even he thought were unfixable at first look. And quite reasonably too. He’s also been very kind and even added a pearl to a vintage necklace to make it wearable again for no charge.

He also is a designer, I haven’t had anything remade into something new but I have overheard a couple of

Ladies in his shop extolling his virtue in this regard too.

Steve is one of those people who will just help if he can.
