GO IF YOU CAN. NOTHING QUITE LIKE IT

It's been a while.

Imagine sitting in the grounds of a beautiful historic chateau, sipping fantastic wine, eating magnificent food and listening to unbelievable live music.

Chateau Ste Michelle is a winery just outside Seattle. They host a summer series of concerts that attract the likes of Stevie Wonder, Peter Frampton, The Moody Blues, I could go on and on.

One of the best nights of my life was spent dancing under the stars to the tunes of the Gipsy Kings with a very cool chick I know, the hosts do ask you not to stand up and respect those around you, but at the end of the night everyone was buzzed and dancing and it was awesome.

The line up is announced around about now, late spring, so get yous on the website and sign up for the schedule. Tickets go really fast through ticketmaster, the only way to reserve unless you drive to the winery and pick up in person.

This is the party of the year in Seattle and we always go to town. A group of us cook a gourmet meal and pack it, yep we take real glasses, cutlery and plates. Makes it the special night it always is.

Tickets last year, if I remember were about 25 bucks. A good deal but you have to buy your alcohol on site, so need to factor that in.

Take your own and it will be confiscated. They are strict on this and no beach chairs unless they are the real low ones. Umbrellas OK if it's pissing it down, which it sometimes does, it's Seattle. Otherwise, a little shower and you have to get wet, not a problem though when you are having the night of your year.

Kids are allowed although anyone over 3 has to have a ticket, no exceptions so I'd recommend getting a baby sitter and keep all the kid free grown ups happy.

Trust me you will love this place, this night. I've never been to the winery and taken a tour but that's an option if the gig doesn't appeal. Completely fabulous. You get that I like this venue/event right?
