Dr. Fone By Wondershare Unlock your Android Phone do not purchase without being sure

You are NOT getting your money back when it doesn’t work for you

The company name is 万兴科技集团股份有限公司 I don’t read Chinese but this translates to

Shenzhen Buyee Trading Co., Ltd. is a professional foreign trade e-commerce company. I thought this software publisher was based in New York City. Very clever.

I purchased the software didn’t work for me without losing all my data. I read a few reviews from tech experts before purchasing on on Tenorshare.com legitimising the company and product so in my case even doing pretty extensive research I could make it work. On Reddit users are saying Tenorshare are scammers too. It’s a minefield out there.

First off I worked for two software publishers in the US Goldmine and Ulead (Taiwan) so I am familiar with the with the software publishing business. Second, write down your phone unlock password right now and keep it somewhere safe outside your phone. You never imagine you’d ever forget it, you use it 50

times a day but it can happen all of sudden it’s gone and you find yourself trailing the internet desperate to find a solution. And it’s this desperation that’s going to make you make a mistake. You type in Unlock my Android phone forgotten my login password and loads of options come up.

This is how I discovered the software company out of New York Wondershare with a whole suite of software solutions including Dr. Fone (great name) which claimed it was the software solution I needed. Like many software companies they offer a free version to try first, except in the situation of a one time need to Unlock your Android phone, it wouldn’t be wise to let someone use a free version once, if it was an “amazing easy solution”

Wondershare would never make any money. So now in hindsight it makes sense why I couldn’t get the free version to load.

I did download and install the free version but I couldn’t get it to load so instead I watched a few you tube films, tutorials how to use to software from technical advisor Francisco Ferreira. He claimed in a few steps even someone with limited technical ability could unlock their locked Android phone without losing data so I went ahead and purchased this Dr.Fone software solution.

It said in the refund policy the Dr. Fone product was subject to a 7 day refund policy. The terms in

The refund policy said the refund would be eligible if the product suggestion cannot be met. It was important for me as I actually didn’t have a back up of this particular phone.

It said 24/7 support was available. The Europe support line was disconnected, so I ended up phoning NYC three times to get support. It’s an automated operator, you say what the problem is and then it gives you suggestions of what to try, non of which applied to me. I couldn’t speak to a human. And the technical chat box online wasn’t human either. I couldn’t speak to anyone.

I spent all day trying to use the software I had purchased on my PC. I even resorted to downloading the Dr.Fone app but when I installed it and logged into my account it said I had only purchased a basic package and to get the Dr. Fone unlock my android phone forgotten my password feature I had to upgrade to premium. By this Point I was starting to be sceptical about this company and read a few reviews a lot less polite than this one.

The funniest part of all actually is Wondershare Dr. Fone seem to be just helping you do a factory reset on your locked android phone and you need another android phone to do that, this I don’t understand why, unless it is part of a very elaborate con or scam.

I purchased 2nd July, 2025 through PayPal and asked for my money back 10 hours later. Something they say is possible if you are unhappy within 7 days on the Dr. Fone product. Yet when I submitted the refund request online it was rejected.

I then got an email saying I could appeal based on technical grounds. I did but I don’t hold out a lot of hope.

I’ve had a few AI assistant generated emails saying the technical support team are waiting and ready to help me with a previso in the bottom saying this email was generated using AI and the contents may not be accurate.

I’ve put this down to a learning experience but I don’t want anyone else to be caught in this “honey” trap when you are desperate to unlock your phone and would pay anyone anything to make that happen.

For me this was a classic case of bait and switch. The 7 day refund policy isn’t real and the unlocking your android phone when you’ve forgotten your password is basically a factory reset as far as I can see which anyone can do without software and for free.

Very clever marketing that’s for sure. I wonder how many more people have fallen for this and downloaded and paid for Dr. Fone miracle software. NOT.

The good news. I filed a dispute with PayPal and told them what had happened so I may have some recourse with PayPal. In my experience PayPal are usually excellent when it comes to sorting things out you cannot get resolution for with the merchant in question. I also found out the payment I had made was not a single payment but a recurring payment so had I not disputed the charge through the resolution centre on PayPal the company Shezwhen (not Wondershare) would have taken more money every month. Yikes, these guys are tricky.
