I am a massive fan

Not many people I would say have the power, skill, wit to make me howl with laughter Melissa McCarthy is one such individual, the queen of comedy in my eyes. And with her husband Ben Falcone ( @benjyfalcone Instagram )

the hilarity seems to explode exponentially for me.

I first noticed Melissa McCarthy in Gilmore Girls, I know cheese, don’t shoot me, it’s 2000 and Melissa appears in the pilot as Sookie St James. I fell in love with the mid west, or is she Canadian Francis Mcdermot Fargo esque voice, where everything she says just sounds funny.

Lots happened in between and then in 2011 Paul Fiig, directed Bridesmaids, Kristen Wiig becomes a household name overnight as Annie, the movie has us hooked, quoting the classic lines from the hilarious script, "Why can't you just be happy for me and then go home and talk behind my back later like a NORMAL PERSON!?" “I want to apologize. I'm not even confident on which end that came out of” : “I'm glad he's single because I'm going to climb that like a tree”

which just wouldn’t have been the brilliant ensemble movie it was without the comedic genius and timing of Miss McCarthy. The scenes on the plane with husband Ben Falcone as the federal agent Air Marshall Jon had us all rolling in the aisles.

McCarthy did pick up a best actress supporting role nomination in 2012, for the role many say was her best ever comedy performance but was popped at the post by Octavia Spencer for her brilliant portrayal of Minny Jackson

in the Help. (a controversial movie I did enjoy)

2014 brought another stand out comedy performance for McCarthy, Tammy. It’s one I saw in a hotel, pay per view and now own my own copy to watch on repeat.

I was motivated to write about Melissa today after watching the funniest laugh out loud short clip, promoting not promoting the couples latest venture on Apple their PODCAST Hildy the Barback and the lake of fire. @melissamccarthy on Instagram image credits too.

I haven’t listened in yet. I’ll report back.

I know, Did she need to do the Booking.com thing? When stars take the advertising gigs for me it dilutes the genius just a little.

It reminds me of something Al Pacino once said after losing all his money, when asked to do a voice for a big animation movie “I just don’t do that”

Lot’s of talented people in Hollywood but when it comes to funny girls; I cannot think of anyone I’d rather be stuck somewhere with than Melissa McCarthy.

I screenshotted the picture of Melissa in the Empathy Green tracksuit as I absolutes loved the “Empathy” sweats from the Mayfair group, styled with crocs, something I personally would never wear. Looks super cool here though.

Melissa could wear anything and I’d think she looked swell.
