Anker Cables are the bomb, don’t make my mistake

iPhone lightening cables up to IPhone 15

Anker Cables are the bomb, don’t make my mistake

The best long lasting cables I have found are Anker. And I am looking at buying an Anker Nano 10000 mAh when I get around to it based on reading a lot of reviews for speed, charging power and lightness and portability it seems like a pretty good option for charging multiple devices on the go.

I am sure I am not the only one very happy to see Apple swap over from their proprietary lightening charging cables to the universal USB C used on Android phone across the board for some time and stop us all having to suffer the despair when another lightening cable stops working sometimes after a few weeks, am I the only one. I’ve even broken down and paid the premium for Apple branded product in Apple, to be honest I think Anker are better and usually cheaper.

But for iPhone users don’t make the same mistake I did.

I upgraded my IPhone to 14 max pro I chose the max pro over max plus 512GB because iPhone 14 plus has an a15 bionic CPU where as the iPhone 14 pro Max has an a16 bionic CPU, thinking this would be USB - C compatible and stocked up on a few charging cables on EBay. There’s an Anker Original store on there where you can get stuff cheaper.

When my phone arrived, I like to purchase a good phone, not the latest model IPhone 16 because you are always going to save a packet running one of two versions behind the latest version. Tech companies rely on us wanting the latest and greatest psychologically and phone companies rely on this too why they can get us to

pay over the odds with premium monthly subscription charges for our up to minute handsets often paying three or four times for a handset we can save a fortune on by buying out right a model a couple of years back, perfectly great, paying for it at a reduced price then paying £10 or £15 for a great unlimited data SIM only deal. It’s how I always try and beat the house.

Except I made a mistake with my USB - C to USB - C cables because my new to me Apple 14 max pro still bloody relies on a lightening cable.

It is only the iPhone 15 and later models that have the USB - C universal connector.

So I am still stuck with the hassle of lightening cables that don’t work so well for the foreseeable although the Anker lightening cables are the best I’ve found for speed of charging and longevity I still hate this proprietary tech and the rubbish compatible unbranded cables churned out that just stop working. And let’s not forget all those useless cables going to landfill. I dread to think how many I’ve had to throw away.

It will be a couple more years before I resell my new to me old handset and upgrade so solving my cable frustration with apple’s proprietary lightening cables hasn’t happened yet.

It’s a reason for sure to jump to iPhone 15 and later for me for sure.
