I just read a quick 3 minute breakdown of the Celebrity Traitors Final just aired by Emily Baker Live Culture and TV editor for the Independent, link below, wonderfully crafted and clearly not more AI journalism, and decided to share my absolute best ever enthusiasm for this series. Don’t read on or click if you don’t want to know what happened.
I had no idea who Sebastian Croft was at the beginning of the series, I didn’t watch Game of Thrones, we don’t have cable TV so his gentle nature and youthful baby faced looks left him wavering in obscurity throughout the series which in hindsight served him well to emerge triumphant and the Celebrity Traitors winner and leaving the audience with the the warm and fuzzies that Good does indeed conquer evil.
As Emily Baker rightly says, Bash played the game without ego, wearing what looked like vintage Chanel jackets, notably and memorably a bright green 3/4 sleeve number (maybe he’s just got long arms) at the beginning and then a red boucle which challenged Claudia’s “Queen of Style” title on the show. Sure he made some mistakes along the way voting out Myhala and Joanne McNally but was truly instrumental in catching Maya Jama who crumbled once the heat was turned up and Michael Sheen was murdered, sending hopes of a Maya Michael end game show down up in red smoke.
It was left to Bash’s gut instinct that James Blunt was indeed a faithful and it was Kenny that had to go to secure the win for the Faithfuls convincing BBC golden boy Romesh Ranganathan he was on the wrong track at the final hour.
It was epic TV and an ending worthy of the format. It was amazing to see someone young, brave and resilient emerge triumphant.
If you’ve never watched the series, this one kept me tuning in until the very end, actually the best TV after I only managed a couple of episodes of the first Celebrity Traitors series commissioned in January 2025 to feature a line up of 21 famous faces.
The casting was much improved and the dramatic missions ending with James Bond style jumping out of helicopters and a bashful Bash getting the glory with a daredevil stunt and swim to a platform in the middle of a freezing loch in the final episode was the high budget drama loyal fans were rewarded with. A fantastic precursor to the Endgame edge of your seat watch.
Congratulations to Studio Lambert the production company commissioned to make the show. It is estimated to have cost between 1 and 2 million per episode with each celebrity being paid an estimated £40K to participate plus personal expenses, accommodation, travel, security and additional celebrity requirements upping the bill outside the location and crew costs.
It may have been expensive to make but boy was it a fantastic watch for license payers.
And Bash, what a hero, a worthy winner, I am delighted to see a brave and pure hearted Faithful triumph in the end. And his charity Choose Love, helping refugees and displaced people, especially Queer Bash was keen to spotlight, wow.
How could we not fall in LOVE when he sat in his VT at the conclusion and said Celebrity Traitors was the best thing he’d ever done.
My heart completed melted. And the humour from Kenny, “I should have killed him, I had so many opportunities to kill him”
It a dastardly pantomime producers will be celebrating for a while, I predict a BAFTA win and a few more TV awards to boot.
