Fego Caffe In Ascot

Like visiting an old friend

Fego Caffe In Ascot

When Fego caffe closed in St John’s Wood I know I wasn’t the only local to be absolutely gutted.

It was such a neighbourhood joint I actually made new friends there, people I saw eating at the same time so many times we connected. I even got almost all the Middlesex cricket team autographs in there, it was right next to Lords. Like so many other favourite spots, unfortunately it didn’t survive “Covid”.

I was playing golf in Ascot with clients for a business/charity a couple of weeks ago and I found myself having breakfast on familiar territory.

No one deserves a shout out more than these guys. A real example of something done exceptionally well. No fuss, no fake, all with a sense of humour and everyone focused on making sure every single customer leaves raving about the food he experience the staff and cannot wait to come back.

I remember asking a familiar member of staff if the spicy scrambled eggs were available and she said if she took it off the menu she’d have a revolution on her hands.

It’s one of my all time favourite things to eat.

They didn’t have it in Sunningdale, so the menus must vary from location to location. We had poached eggs and they didn’t disappoint.

The whole experience from arriving, being seated, being fed to saying goodbye made us feel completely at home, even though we’d never been there before.

This is a wonderful business.
