If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle and feel like you are on holiday just for the day, there really is no where better than Eden Day Spa. I’ve seen a few people raving about it on here so decided to give it a try. We have been to the spa at Center Parks, Aqua Sana Forest Spa Nottingham which is nice but no out door lounging. It’s a good place to do the evening slot as the surrounding forest adds a different dimension. And Ragdale hall for me isn’t worth the money, run down and feels a bit like you are in an old people’s home.
Champneys is a famous name in health and wellness and Champneys Springs is also close to me. I’ve been once. It was great, quite vast and you do feel a bit like it’s designed to take money. And the food is extremely healthy which is great if you are looking to kick start a new routine but can leave your taste buds longing for salt and pepper.
Eden Day Spa comes out on top for me of all the avaluable options. I just read they have just invested in a property in Warwickshire. Barons Eden, the owner of Eden Hall Day Spa, purchased 4-star Ardencote hotel and spa in Warwickshire in September 2025. This Victorian manor house features 110 bedrooms, an 18-hole golf course, wedding/conference facilities, and a spa. The site is positioned as a key expansion for the luxury hotel and spa group. The plan to open another venue will be great as the only downside with Eden Day Spa, it is difficult to get in especially if you watch the weather forecast and feel like going on a sunny day like everyone else. When the sun comes out in the UK if you haven’t pre booked and can get a reservation expect the price to sky rocket.
If you plan ahead you can get a day spa pass for around £139 really great value for what you get.
A lovely three course lunch for starters. Wine and other drinks are charged on top but not overly expensive. There’s also a lovely cafe serving snacks and pastries, hot drinks, ice cream all day. This is extra but again I didn’t feel like the prices were exorbitant.
There’s also sunbathing area feels like a 5 star hotel experience with outdoor sauna and hydrotherapy pool. It’s really lovely and when we went didn’t feel over crowded. When got sun loungers no problem but we did snag them early.
The classes are included as is the gym. I got one Tai Chi class in during the day. It would be difficult to fit in more with everything that’s on offer but they run all day and there’s a really good selection on offer from yoga, Pilates to meditation and more vigorous core and strength training.
The treatments are not included in the base package. Expect to pay an extra £70 to £100 per treatment depending on what you pick. We had full body massages and a reiki treatment which I’d never tried before. Both were excellent. And my favourite spot on the whole place was the tranquility room, a beautiful glass atrium with sprawling views and the comfiest blankets and cushions on lovely chaises where they send you to relax after your treatment is concluded. The warmth and the serenity, no body talks, wraps around you like a heavenly shroud.
I believe if you pay a bit more you can get a treatment included in your day package.
With airlines suggesting travel may be limited this summer as fuel stocks are dwindling and once free hand luggage carry on luggage will now incur a charge, considering a break in the UK is on the cards for many. I’ve looked at the prices for a weeks stay closer to home and the costs were eye watering for anyone like me used to grabbing a cheap package holiday for under £1000 to Spain or Portugal. Staying in the UK unless you are camping forget it.
A day here and there at Eden Day Spa and certainly when the sun comes out we found was the perfect close to home getaway.
A day away from your everyday life doesn’t sound like very much but an away day at Eden Day Spa was just the reset I needed. It did feel like a mini break and gave me time to enjoy all the hydro therapy and indoor water features and spa facilities which are extensive and really lovely.
I can’t recommend this place more highly. We absolutely loved it. Everything from the facility, to the service, to the Tai Chi class, to the sunbathing and spa facilities was absolutely perfect.
