I love the smell in this fabulous shop

I am one of the few people left with a fountain pen, a bottle of ink and wax sticks for sealing my correspondence and thank you notes. I love writing them and receiving them so no surprise I am a lover of fine stationary too.

It is sometimes a conflict as emails are greener than cards although by the same token I don’t want to see another gorgeous speciality shop go to the wall, especially in Mayfair where the landscape has changed particularly around Shepherds Market, the famed red light district of London’s poshest neighbourhood.

As property prices especially commercial rents rise, family run pubs and restaurants like Le Boudin Blanc we’ve enjoyed for years and years are dropping like flies.

You’ll always get a warm welcome from Mount Street Printers, people passionate about what they do and the product, with it’s Royal warrant, is a testament to that passion.

This is luxury so it is not inexpensive, I think I paid about £26 for my last set of ten notecards, I know it’s a lot, but not when you think about paying £4 for a random card in a newsagents.

The shop is totally unique, beautiful displays and always lots and lots of stock which I like. And anything they cannot produce immediately they will make for you. It’s one of those places if you can afford it you can have it.

You can also add personal initials, logos, family crests (if you’ve got one ha ha) they do anything a regular printer stationary supplier does, invitations, announcements, place cards and everything you’d need for business too, letterhead, biz cards, promo pieces.

It’s just a beautiful shop I dread walking down Mount St one day and it not being there.

I am a hard working jewellery designer with a small business I promote through local fairs and trade shows. I love combining vermeil with precious stones to offer my customers something better and more unique than the more aspirational jewellery brands like Monica Vinader. I am lucky to have had some good press in Stylist magazine and a tiny mention in Vogue a few years back. I get to work from our beautiful Georgian townhouse which we struggled to buy 25 years ago and together with my husband (my parents call him that, we are not actually married) Ron, who works in film finance we have renovated and turned into the perfect haven for us. One day at Chelsea town hall maybe. A rockstar wedding maybe is on the cards, followed by the pub, always the Ship on Wandsworth bridge for us and then Bali I think. My dream vacation destination, somewhere I’ve never been and longed for flicking through my monthly Conde Nast Traveller subscription.
