I used to love it when Trinny Woodal (Trinny and Susannah, what not to wear) and Charles Saatchi (Saatchi and Saatchi) were dating and smoking. I’d stroll past the restaurant and spy them in their favourite spot on the end usually flanked by the paparazzi.
It’s a bit snooty in Scott’s although that does add to the charm. And there’s no hanging about, languishing over coffee or drinks. This restaurant is fast paced, part of the Caprice group and they know how to make expensive real estate pay for itself.
The menu isn’t massive, mainly fish, seafood, oysters, served with ice cold champagne is usually the order of the day, the food absolutely delicious, expect small portions and a big bill.
My favourite pud is the chocolate bomb. Crack it and watch the centre ooze.
It’s an iconic spot for a special occasion, outside is amazing, the heaters work a charm and blankets are provided.
Don’t expect a table on the off chance. Even regulars get turned away. So booking in advance is essential. And when you get inside don’t forget to really look at the art, you’ll be absolutely amazed who’s hanging there.
The price for lunch for two people, two courses with wine and tip £200 (service charge is included) since 1851
