My second visit to the Ritz Carlton Abama Retreat Tenerife has been a little disappointing because it used to be an adults-only retreat but is now open to families.

A lifestyle that envelops you in the warmth of the Canarian spirit and leaves you feeling rejuvenated and pampered, the Ritz Carlton Hotel Tenerife is more than just a hotel. The private villas at this opulent retreat provide the exclusivity and comfort you would expect on vacation, whether you're looking for a romantic retreat, a family holiday, or a business retreat. When making reservations, it's critical to realise that the Ritz Abama complex consists of two properties: the main hotel and the private retreat. This review is about the private villas and infinity pool hideaway retreat. You are given a golf buggy to help you navigate the expansive property, and you have a personal concierge crew available to help with anything you require. In order to accommodate families, the infinity pool was recently modified, allowing children to play in it. An adult-only pool is available, and it's a short stroll from the retreat.

Included in the retreat package, is the bar run by amazing Georgetta, serve free wine, beer and soft drinks all day with a splendid tapas selection lunch and afternoon cakes thrown in, which is amazing and excellent quality. They also serve throughout the day cocktails, drinks, ice creams, cakes and fruit yogurts around the pool, as you relax and enjoy the views. The staff are incredible, helpful and remember your name, so you feel like you are at home. The Retreat bar and pool is run by Oscar and his excellent team, including Lorenzo and Niko, all excellent at making you feel welcome and at home. The breakfast is splendid offering everything from freshly squeezed juices, to a full menu of cooked delights, situated outside looking out across the vast ocean. It is a bit like a luxury 5 star all inclusive experience.

The Ritz Carlton Hotel Tenerife, a majestic haven of tranquillity that graciously embraces the discerning traveller seeking the epitome of luxury and elegance. It is a very special place if you are looking to relax, be looked after and enjoy some sunshine. The main hotel offer exclusive shopping and great restaurants, including a vegan one plus the Spa which is equipped with a relaxing water facility. sauna, steam, stone beds and cold dipping pool plus endless treatments. You do have to book early as the spa gets very busy. There is also tennis and golf available plus a small out door gym overlooking the ocean, which I personally loved.

I would recommended this hotel to anyone looking to escape the rat race, relax and be looked after by hand picked staff who love what they do.
