TK Maxx And The Click And Collect Service

My first experience of TK Maxx click and collect may not be typical but it was very haphazard

We all like a bargain and although I have stopped shopping so frequently at TK Maxx for clothes, make up and home in store when I needed a new suitcase it was the first place I thought of to buy a decent one and save a bit of money.

I don’t particularly like shopping online, I like to see what I am buying and cannot stand the hassle of returns so I found a couple of options online and then actually went into my local store to take a look and make a purchase.

Unfortunately there was nothing like the suitcases I’d seen online in the store so a sales assistant suggested I purchase online and do click and collect so I could come into the store to take a look and then could get my money back immediately if the item didn’t work for me.

First of all it wasn’t smooth. The confirmation email went into spam so I didn’t have an order number. When I phoned the store a week later they said they didn’t have a click and collect order for me and gave me the central customer service number. When I called customer service they said my item was at the store. When I called the store back and told them they didn’t manage to locate my item.

I went to the store to pick it up unaware there is a click and collect button at the front of the store, literally click and collect.

I stood in a very busy queue for about twenty minutes and when I finally got to the counter waited another 15 minutes before anyone could actually log in to their system in store. Then they couldn’t find my item.

It was chaos. I almost abandoned the pick up when someone did finally appear with my item. I meant to open it and take a look in store but after all the standing around I had to leave.

When I got home later and checked the item, a suitcase it was too small and had to go back.

I deliberated whether or not to attempt the whole process again. In this case I did, I am in need of the suitcase, so ordered the next size up before returning the original purchase (I hope that process is smoother) but I would recommend if you are time poor, unsure about sizes, unsure what exactly you need and like hassle free shopping this is probably not the best route to go.

I know measurements are provided on websites but it’s way easier to see an item like luggage in the flesh before purchasing.

Had I found the order confirmation in the first instance and had the order number I’d have had more peace of mind when trying to locate my purchase. My advice check your spam thoroughly to find the confirmation email. Don’t just assume you didn’t get one as it didn’t drop into your inbox.
