Kensington Tennis Club Baseball Caps

I saw a girl yesterday wearing this really cool hat and it reminded me of an exchange a few months ago I wanted to share that didn’t make me feel very good. Seeing the girl wearing it reminded me how much I loved it, I’d seen Megan Markle in one similar for a tennis charity and I can’t resist a new cap, especially one a bit more obscure that not everyone will have.

I saw the hat originally at Roland Garros at the French open I am a big tennis fan and I thought it really stood out so as soon as I got home I emailed and asked if it was available to buy. The club came back and said not yet but would let me know as soon as it was available.

A couple of months later I got a message to say it was available to purchase so I went to the website to have a look. There were no details where it was made (I am a conscious consumer) and no details what it was made of so I reached out on Instagram to see if I could find out. The hat is £90 so I wanted to make sure what I was supporting was sustainable manufacture at least.

I said,

Can you tell me where they are made. Couldn’t see it on your website. Thanks and the fabric composition too please?

The reply,

Hi they it should be on the website but they are 100% cotton!

Here’s what they said,

Hi! Yes, that’s absolutely fine. Our team must have done some research and they have only produced a very small number of the grand slam caps I know that our designer is in the UK so rest assured that they have been ethically produced.

I’m afraid I’m not allowed to give more information as we have been finding a lot people recently asking too many questions to unfortunately copy our ideas.

Appreciate that. I am not looking to copy the cap, just don’t want to buy Made in China.

They replied

Sure no problem :)

Then I said,

The country where they are made would be helpful? I really love it.

To which there was no reply.

I still love the cap if anyone out there knows the country of origin.
