My love affair with Golden Goose began when I randomly purchased a pair of green sparkle trainers secondhand. They were literally glitter encrusted and at the time I’d never seen anything quite like them. I was even happier when they arrived and I discovered my £70 purchase would have cost £300 - £400 had I purchased new.

I had no idea. Where had I been.

Since then I always like to browse the collections, the shoes more than the clothes suite my skater girl style.

The prices are high it has to be said, out of my price range so I haven’t taken the plunge yet with anything else except a pair of incredible cowboy boots, their signature pair the Wish Star boots in black with platinum laminated leather inlay star I saved up for and managed to pick up on sale.

They retail for a staggering £825 so definitely you gotta love them, one boot I’ll keep forever.

A word on the sizing, I am a 38 and sometimes a 51/2 UK size, 71/2

And sometimes an 8 in US shoe sizes. In Golden Goose low tops I’m a 37 and I had to wear my boots in but I went for the 37 here too as the 38 were too big.

I’d definitely say Golden Gooses sneakers run large.

I was watching the Real Housewives of Beverley Hills reruns and I just saw Crystal Minkoff in the cutest Stars and Stripes high tops from GGDB, golden goose deluxe brand.

They are around £530 way out of my price range but the beauty of this iconic sneaker it’s distressed to begin with and it doesn’t change or date so my green pair I invested in 5 years ago are still totally current.

I am going to keep my eyes open for the Krystal Minkoff pair I love too. I am sure if I am patient someone will eventually sell me theirs.

And if all else fails there’s always a visit to the outlet store in Bicester Village, Oxfordshire. Don’t expect super cheap

prices though. This brand is very desirable and really holds it’s value if you ever need to sell.
