The Affair

I don't really like box sets or long running TV series but I was given The Affair produced by showtime staring Dominic West and Ruth Wilson for Christmas so I started to watch it thinking I would switch off after first couple of discs. How wrong was I. This is amazing compulsive complected addictive viewing. First off the acting is superb and so well cast. Ruth Wilson hooks you in with her natural ability to develop her character Alison. A married grieving small Town waitress who begins an affair with married teacher Noah. The repercussions of this intense affair between two damaged souls begins to breakdown both their marriages as well as their pain. The series is quite tricky to follow because it builds and shows the breakdown from many different perspectives, flashing backwards and forwards.

THE AFFAIR slowly and cleverly explores the emotional and psychological effects of a passionate love affair that destroys two marriages, and the crime that brings people back together again.

It is a truly brilliant piece of TV and I would highly recommend anyone to sit down on a rainy day and become immersed in the powerful way one thing can change everything forever.
