We Buy Any Car my first experience I was ready for after reading the reviews

A business that is OK to deal with if you understand why they do things the way they do and keep your expectation realistic

We Buy Any Car my first experience I was ready for after reading the reviews

The lady at Fosse Park, Leicester wasn’t the friendliest at the beginning but she was under pressure and did warm up towards the end. She’s got a job to do and it’s not an easy one.

I arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment so while I was waiting I had chance to really read the reviews online which are more bad than good to be fair.

The car, a jalopy I needed to get rid of as I’d already bought another car, so thankfully the massive drop in price quoted to price offered couldn’t actually happen to me. And they couldn’t ask me to pay them to take the car away. Ha Ha. I was expecting the £360 offered less the administration fee to end up being around £200. So I was ready for the blow.

The lady dealing with me first off told me she’d be ready in 5 minutes. When I checked in again 10 minutes later she said she would be 5 more minutes. I reminded her she had said that 10 minutes ago. She explained she was running a little bit behind which is fair enough.

I explained my lift back had a meeting to attend and she said she’d be as quick as she could.

Fifteen minutes later the lady appeared with clipboard in hand. She asked me to switch on the car, took a few pictures of the dashboard and clocked the mileage, then she walked around the vehicle in pretty much the same way they do when checking you haven’t trashed a rental car before you return it.

Then we went into the porta cabin for the bad news. I mentioned immediately I had been unable to find the area on the website to discuss the condition of the vehicle to avoid disappointment or unrealistic expectations which was acknowledged as being buried and not easy to find. She told me the company’s objective was to get people to the appointment which I said I understood. I did point out the reviews online which I had read while waiting for her were absolutely horrific and sympathised with her, she had a difficult job to do. She said the one’s on Trip advisor weren’t that bad. Not sure which ones she was looking at. I also mentioned I had emailed we Buy any car three days prior to the appointment after reading disappointed customer reviews to discuss the condition and quote before coming to the appointment and did not receive a reply. The lady helping me apologised, said she’d been off for a few days and then assured me even if someone had replied (which they should have done) it wouldn’t have made any difference because they have to see the vehicle. I said it would have made a difference because I’d have had a much more realistic quote. Which she then acknowledged.

She then went into her difficult sales spiel to break the bad news to me of what was coming, the actual offer. I let her off and told her to just rip the band aid off.

The quote online was £360, I expected based on the reviews £200, I got £131. I said it probably would have been better to scrap it. She said with a gulp it would be about the same as scrap isn’t paying very much at the moment.

The good things about the experience, the lady I dealt with was honest and didn’t try to sugar coat the business tactics used by we buy any car.

I was just very glad I was selling a very old car with a lot of miles on it because to lose almost 70% on a much higher value vehicle would have been truly gut wrenching.

My advice if you are going to use We Buy Any Car to sell your vehicle. Find the area on the website buried deep to describe accurately the condition of your car. Make sure you account for the extra £50 administration fee in the fine print.

And then whatever the online quote cut it by 50% and if you are happy to accept that number book an appointment. Then you won’t be shocked or disappointed with your dealings with We Buy Any Car.

What’s important to me? I am not flash or fancy. I am a little bit chubby and my hair, nails, etc are usually a mess. I prefer to be comfortable than dressed up that said I work hard, earn a decent amount of money I like to spend on overseas travel and collecting vintage jewellery which I buy and don’t wear. I am happier tracking in South America or on safari exploring animal sanctuaries and nature reserves across Africa where I have visited on five different occasions, Ghana, Senegal in West Africa, South Africa and Sudan and Kenya on the East coast. I would love to visit Victoria falls and see the Gorillas in Uganda. I am a vegetarian and don’t smoke but enjoy a glass of decent wine and love tasting local wine when I travel. I am a Capricorn
