    J and M Davidson Bags

The plated bag and carnival bag are still considered iconic bags today

Founded in the vibrant heart of Notting Hill back in 1984 by John and Monique Davidson, the photographer and designer duo, the journey began with a single belt inspired by equestrian bridles that exemplified their innate creativity and love for craftsmanship. With a commitment to quality and innovation, the brand quickly gained recognition for their distinctive designs that seamlessly blended artistry and functionality.

Over the years, the brand evolved into handbags, luggage, small leather goods and capsule collections of ready to wear. Although the founders no longer work for the company, our London based team still aims to captivate the timeless elegance, attention to detail, and a fusion of classic and contemporary aesthetics in each product.

Originally, all the belts and handbags were made in England, but over the years the majority of manufacturing has been moved to Spain and Italy, countries with the richest heritage and expertise in making leather goods. A small selection of belts are still made in England with a bridle maker, following a traditional method similar to the first ever belts designed by John and Monique.

  6. Esther Perbandt found in a UK Charity Shop

Esther Perbandt found in a UK Charity Shop

Sustainability is one of her main beliefs and goals. This already starts with classical designs, embellished with modern twists. Black, as a timeless color, underlines this philosophical belief of hers even more. Her materials are exclusively sourced in Europe and mainly from natural resources. The production is made in Germany and Poland. And, of course, Esther implements sustainable solutions whenever possible, e.g. by using only “Green Energy by Greenpeace” and much more.

As almost no other label, Esther Perbandt sticks to her DNA and roots with an inspirational consequence. She metaphorically portrays rainbows in black by applying different materials, haptics, layers and shades. To her, black is colorful, it’s magical, elegant, and graceful. (Black supports retreat and distinction, it gathers light and keeps the heat.)
