Ayda Athleisure

I bought in, actually don’t rate the leggings

Ayda Athleisure

I wear a lot of leggings, not just for working out, I wear them to work, out and about at the weekends. I am quite sporty, play a bit of tennis too so not unusual for me to pop leggings under my tennis skirt. The reason I bought these cute cropped leggings. I paid about £115.

I’ve tried Lululemon, Alo, Varley and cheaper offerings Bo and Tee, fear of god essentials and adanola quite recently, then Ayda popped up on my radar and I’d bought a pair before doing any hard research.

After the fact I discovered the Ayda brand, launched in May, 2022 is the brainchild of Ayda Field Williams, American actress and wife of former Take that band member, Robbie Williams which explains all the hype and press when they launched.

Fast forward three years and trying a pair and I can see why customers didn’t fall in love and return to buy everything else.

I like the colour, the green is amazing. The fabric is nice, but quite sheer. I am pretty toned so not a problem for me however I can see if you were a bit bigger the material could be too flimsy. (Not like Alo that sculpt)

I couldn’t find out a great deal about their sustainability policy, not sure they have one, no mention of supply chain or ethics on their website or in the Forbes article by Angela Lei when the brand launched,

And I am not a prude but if I’d read all the F ing and blinding on the website, before shopping it possibly would have put me off. I don’t get it. Who talks like that?

They are a British brand I think, not 100% sure about that as Ayda is from the USA. The pair I have say made in China.

The Ayda clothes are not inexpensive so my advice, buyer beware. They are the same price point as say a Casel Training legging although don’t have all the technical Performance quality of a brand like that.

I am wearing mine but if I’d paid full retail I’d have been extremely disappointed.
