We always wanted Poopsnoop to be a space for real life editorials not influencer marketing. People talking about what they buy and use for real not just selling for the sake of it.
There’s a big distinction. Not gifted products and services but actual images of what we’ve invested in and love or not.
As the editor and chief on here I do have to read and moderate a lot of snoops. It’s job I love. I am always interested in what people, member are recommending, what they’ve tried and what they have genuinely thought about their purchases and experiences. I’ve learned a lot and been introduced to so many small brands and businesses I’d never heard of.
I’ve also bought a few things in the past I would NEVER have tried had it not been for someone sharing their experience.
I will start by saying I have never spent over £100 for any face product in my life. I am the girl who didn’t even take her make off until I was in my 50s. I know beauty people will be grimacing.
I am not sure I look especially bad because of my bad beauty regime but as I have aged I have recognised a good wash does improve the look and feel of your make up foundation which also has also had to change to not looked caked on on an older face.
This Chanel Sublimage gel to oil cleanser I purchased following a review I moderated. It was so passionate and sensible in equal measure I decided it might be for me. The price was eye watering so I went to my Chanel beauty counter, showed them the review I had read on here and asked if I might get a small tester to try. They obliged and I absolutely loved it, the ease of it especially, you rub it on your face without water like a moisturiser, the texture is fabulous and the wash it off with a flannel or splash of water. It honestly could not be easier and your skin feels really soft hydrated and moisturised all in one after. It really is magic.
So good I went in search of a tube on secondhand platforms and was lucky enough to find a full size tester version selling for about half the listed retail price.
It’s a big tube and you only need a small amount. So the tube has lasted for about a year, a long time for a beauty product you use every day. I worked it out to use this amazing product would have cost me about 0.40p per day had I paid the full £110.
I’ve found a new one reduced in Boots for £86 which over a year I reckon will work out at around £0.25 per day.
An investment I am happy to make.
I just checked and the £86 boots offer has ended. The cheapest I could find it was £99 at Sephora. Might be worth waiting until it’s on offer again.
